What is the PTE exam?
PTE, or Pearson Test of English is an Academic test that assesses the language skills of candidates under four sections namely, reading, writing, speaking, and listening. PTE is a computer-based test taken by students who wish to study abroad and where English is their first language. The describe image task comes under the PTE speaking section.
How to Describe Map Chart PTE?
This section of PTE speaking assesses the candidate's speaking ability through images, charts, graphs, tables, and maps. Each image is displayed for 25 seconds and candidates have 40 seconds to solve these questions with good fluency.
This task may be a bit challenging for those candidates who do not have enough practice. There are a total of around 6-7 images shown in the exam. This section is really fun but can be challenging. Among the 6-7 images shown in this section almost 2 of them are maps.
To excel in the exam a student needs to concentrate during the exam and understand every small detail in a short period. Describe your main introduction and conclusion in one sentence and the main body in 2-3 sentences.

Map Template:
Introduction: The candidate begins the answer with a an introduction part in 1-2 lines by mentioning the title of the map or describing the background information of the map such as the type of the map and the purpose of the map. Example: says as the map shows…, The map displays….
Main section: In the description talk about the three main features in the map showcasing its significance. Describe the locations of features, using words such as: on the left, to the right, etc. If important objects are in color identify them by saying: the city marked as blue, green, etc. To specify sizes and shapes use words like: the biggest square, the largest building, small rectangle, etc.

Well here we are at the top of the town and we gonna look at the view from each direction. Out to the east, large buildings about a kilometer away from the Olympic site, there is an indoor arena for gymnastics, a swimming pool for swimming, and a Stadium (track and field). If you look carefully down there, you can see the train line. The Olympic site has a station to encourage the use of public transport. If you look at the south, you can see a circular ornamental pond, and around the west, you can relax and sit on the bench to smell the flowers in the rose garden. Finally up to the north, if you look in front of you now, there is a lake with a small island in the center and a boat at North-West.
